Well for those of you who know us well, I'm sure you know we camp ALOT! With three boys what choice do I have? Only big fear that I have ever had while camping are bears, My worries became reality this weekend! On Thursday night (after assuring Jaelin over and over again that there were no Bears!) 2:30 in the morning two Black Bears wandered on in to camp! Barbara and her boys were in a tent, she woke up to the sound of something next to her tent, but told her self it was a dog as they rattled through a tent bag just outside though door , telling her self it was just a dog collar she was hearing! There bears wondered all around our trailer and picked one of Traeson's dirty diapers to haul to the next camp site. That is when we all became aware of them! I woke up to screaming coming from the next campsite, it was startling but not as much as the two (very loud) gun shots! I jumped straight out of bed and said "what the crap was that" Next thing I know a women is screaming everybody up there are bears!!! I freaked out and ran for the door to try and get Barbara and her boys in with us! Luckily know one was hurt. Apparently the lady thought her dog had gotten loose and opened her tent to find one bear a foot from her face and another right behind it, she proceeded by smacking across the face with her flashlight, her husband reached his hand out with a pistol and shot two times in the air! That did work and the bears took off. We didn't sleep much that night however, we were pretty shook up! Well we had about 10 rangers in our campsite all day on Friday, they got traps set and kicked us to the parking lot. Telling me that I had made a mistake leaving a stinky diaper outside! The sad part is that they will have to put the bears down if they catch them (which they may have last night?) They consider it a Level 3, because the bears had human contact! Barbara you are one brave women and same to you Sebastian and Jaelin, she even says she will go camping again! And sorry about the long post and all the pictures and video's it was one wild weekend!

That is totally crazy! Seriously crazy!
Other than almost getting eaten alive, it looks like a really fun trip.
Wow! That is so scary... I am glad everyone is alright. That's a fun story to tell everyone... Yikes!
That is unreal to me! I would freak out! I would have been the one in the tent, I cant believe it. And we would not have had a shotgun with us! YOu guys are all brave. Looks like you had a blast. I cant believe your little one is 9 months already! Cant wait to see you at bunco, it seems like it has been FOREVER!
Wow that is so scary. I am gald you guys didn't get hurt. Hey this is Anne. So I Finally started a blog if you want to add me to your list. My address is kawmommy.blogspot.com. We need to get together soon, I will call you this week.
What a fun yet crazy camping trip. I think it would take me a while to get back into a tent after coming so close to a bear.
That is freaky! I can't believe that happened. Every time I've been in Yellowstone I think about that, but we've never even seen a bear!
Scary! I am terrified of mountain lions, so veturing into the great outdoors makes me very nervous. I don't know if I would ever go camping again if I came face to face with a wild animal. I'm a chicken.
Wow! you will have a great camping story to tell the rest of your life! Glad you are all safe.
I´m glad you found my blog, it is fun to share pics with family. Congrats on your new addition.
Cherish has a blog too, you can get to hers from the comments on my blog. She is the only other one that has one right now.
Holy Crap! I would have freaked out. Now you can look back on that experience and laugh...right! Sounds like you guys have been having a way fun summer. Love all the pictures.
Okay that is beyond freaky!! I can't believe you guys were so close to those bears!! It sounds like an adventure to remember!! I love all your camping photos--it makes me wish we went more, except for the whole bear business--that I can live without!!!
That would have been terrifying. I am so scared of things like that happening. I would cry if a racoon came into my campsite.
